Q: Do you also do air conditioning installation Geelong?
A: Yes, we have qualified electricians on staff at Julian's Appliance Centre in Geelong who can help you with the air conditioning installation of any of the air conditioners that we stock.

Q: Aren't Ducted Vacuum Systems costly?
A: Ducted vacuum systems may seem to cost more than a conventional vacuum cleaner, yet over the life of your system this cost reduces significantly. Firstly, when you install a ducted vacuum system, the value of your home automatically increases. Secondly, the exceptional cleaning power that a ducted vacuum system offers prolongs the life of carpets, curtains, and other fabrics, saving you money in the long run. It's difficult to put a price on the convenience, efficiency and exceptional cleaning power, but ducted vacuum systems are worth their weight in gold.

Q: Why does my vacuum cleaner have poor suction?
A: There could be a number of reasons for this. First, your vacuum bag could be full and might need to be emptied. If this has been done and the problem continues, take note if your vacuum sounds normal. If it doesn't, it may have a motor-related problem such as a broken drive belt or a drive belt that has loosened over time. Drive belts can often break when the vacuum has been blocked. Q: I have a sore back, what vacuum cleaner is the best for me?
A: The best type of vacuum cleaner to use when you have a sore back could be a ducted vacuum system as there is nothing heavy to carry or move around. The wide range of attachments can be tailored to your individual needs. If a ducted vacuum system is not viable for your home, the traditional answer would be to use an upright vacuum cleaner. While upright vacuum cleaners are generally easier on a sore back, some lighter model barrel vacuums that use a spinning brush system can also be safe to use.

Q: When I use my vacuum cleaner it makes the air smell musty, how can I avoid this?
A: Some vacuums use bags and others do not. All vacuums have filters. If you are experiencing a musty smell when you vacuum it could be a combination of the bag needing replacement and the filter needing cleaning/replacement. If you have your vacuum serviced, at Julian's Appliance Centre we will clean and/or replace these as required. If not, then replace your bag and see if the problem continues. If it does, clean or change your filter.

Q: When should I change the filter on my vacuum cleaner?

Q: Do vacuum cleaners need to be serviced?
A: All vacuum cleaners need to be serviced. We recommend an annual service, however this can vary model to model. Some ducted vacuum systems are self servicing, requiring only maintenance when needed. At Julian's Appliance Centre we recommend regular servicing of any vacuum to prolong its life and to ensure that it is operating at peak capacity.
